NANOFIL Nova® TheraCalm LC is a light-cured, resin-modified calcium silicate pulp protectant and liner developed with U.S.-origin technology. Designed for both direct and indirect pulp capping, it provides a reliable protective barrier for the dental pulpal complex — helping preserve pulp vitality and support long-term restorative success.


Formulated with tricalcium silicate particles dispersed in a hydrophilic monomer matrix, NANOFIL Nova® TheraCalm LC delivers controlled calcium ion release that stimulates hydroxyapatite deposition and promotes secondary dentin bridge formation. Its alkaline pH environment actively supports tissue healing and encourages apatite formation around the pulp.


The syringe delivery system allows for precise, controlled placement in deep cavity preparations. Its non-slumping consistency ensures easy handling, while light-cure capability allows immediate placement of the final restoration — streamlining the clinical workflow without compromising performance.


NANOFIL Nova® TheraCalm LC is moisture-stable and highly radiopaque, remaining clearly visible on radiographs over time. It can be used as a direct substitute for calcium hydroxide, glass ionomer (GIC), resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI), IRM/ZOE, and other base materials — making it a versatile, single-material solution for pulp protection across a wide range of clinical scenarios.

Q1: How long does the calcium release last compared to other calcium-releasing pulp protectants?
A: Independent testing confirms sustained calcium ion release for a minimum of 4 weeks — comparable to market-leading calcium-releasing liners. The resin-modified matrix ensures gradual, controlled diffusion rather than a rapid burst.
Q2: Can I use it under amalgam restorations?
A: Yes. TheraCalm LC is indicated as a protective liner beneath composite, amalgam, cement, and other restorative materials. Its alkaline pH and insulating properties make it ideal for any direct restoration.
Q3: Does it require a separate bonding agent?
A: TheraCalm LC can be used with or without a bonding agent depending on your clinical protocol. When used with a bonding agent, it integrates seamlessly into the adhesive interface. Follow our IFU for specific technique guidance.
Q4: What is the setting time and curing depth?
A: Light-cured with a standard curing light (≥20 seconds at ≥500 mW/cm²). Effective curing depth is approximately 2.0 mm per increment. For deeper cavities, apply in layers as you would with any light-cured liner.
Q5: Is there clinical data comparing it to calcium hydroxide?
A: Yes. Our clinical study (n=120, 6-month follow-up) showed comparable dentin bridge formation rates to calcium hydroxide, with significantly lower post-operative sensitivity and no pulpal complications.
